SHOTOKAN KATAS (FORMS) REQUIRED BY U.S.K.D.A

  • Katas: Are pre-arranged patterns of self-defense techniques which serve to develop the physical and emotional standards of the practitioner.
  • There are 14 mandatory Katas required from White Belt to 1st Degree Black Belt in our organization, with some optional.
  • The time required for each rank is based on the practitioner attending classes 4 to 5 times weekly. The time may vary, based on the training habits, ability to learn, and dedication of the practitioners.
